Little Children can make a Big Difference!

Our community service club, Share A Smile, just had their most successful toy and clothing drive ever! Many thanks to all the families who donated new and used items and to our parent coordinator for delivering all of the donations to Cradles to Crayons in Brighton. The teachers read the book For Every Child, A Better World and talked with the children about helping others. What a great lesson and example for our budding philanthropists.

MDS friends also had the opportunity to help one of their favorite animals earlier in the semester with our Save the Elephants campaign. Each child took home a special jar for collecting coins and brought it back to school once they filled it. They took several days to sort and count the money. The children enjoyed learning about elephants through books and lessons. The only disappointment was that the elephants we are trying to save will not be coming to live at MDS :(. The children raised over $250!

From the beginning, Montessori Day School has been a place where children are respected, valued, and loved. Each child has shared their own special light and made it the wonder filled school that it is today. To our students, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, caregivers, friends and our amazing teachers, past, present, and future, ~ we are truly grateful for you!
